UNIVERSITIES in Milan
The University of Milan (Università degli Studi, UNIMI) is one the larger universities in Italy, with about 60,000 students. The university of Milan was founded 30 September, 1923, when the Faculty of Arts and Philosophy of the Milan Accademia, active since 1861, was joined with the Istituti Clinici di Perfezionamento, founded by Luigi Mangiagalli in 1906. In June 1998, a "Second University of Milan" was founded at Bicocca.

You need a permission to study (Permesso di soggiorno per studio), which you have to apply for within 8 days after arrival in Italy.

Be sure you have:
- a certification of inscription of your school/university
- the form for the Permesso di soggiorno per studio
- confirmation of insurance policy, valid for the Italian territory
- 4 passport fotos, the stamp which costs €14,62 (sold at Tabacchi
“T”)
- passport and copies of the passport
Please note that there is always a long time to wait, so you should get there by 7:00 or 7:30 the latest.
